Last night I attended a dance theater act called “2” by Dimitris Papaioannou, the guy who was responsible for the opening ceremony of the 2004 Olympics in Athens. The man is a genius; the act describes the need of the man to find a partner to become 2. It’s simply brilliant, the chorography so inspired and dreamful and at the same time so emotional. Congratulations!

The picture of the Pope together with the Orthodox Patriarch Bartholomew raising hands tight is at least frightening. I don’t know what it means to other people but to me it shows that a probable union of the different Christian dogmas is going to happen and of course they are forced to do so from the International Capital. The strengthen of a unique Christian religion – especially now that the orthodox Russians have come out after communism – is going to be used as a manner of manipulating people in certain directions as the rulers of the world would demand. Something similar to what is happening with Bush and the evangelists in the USA. It’s scary where the world it may lead.

Dutch Socialists

Great victory for the Socialist Party in the Dutch General Election where it over-doubled its seats to the parliament from 9 to 26 and it has become the third biggest party after the Christian-democrats and the Labours. Having both lost much of their power it means that the Dutch voters have moved to the left. Trying to connect the left votes with the disapproval of the European Constitution through the referendum that took place about a couple of years ago, we ‘ll realize the need of the people for a more social-caring constitution. A need that the EU authorities should take into account while preparing the next form of the Constitution, that is to apply to the needs of the people and not serving the capital.

At the top of a list of the Eurobarometer were found the greeks among the employees whose work affects their personal health most, although it does not exactly fit the image that people have about them. It may sound strange but it’s true nowadays.
The point is that we should not damage our health in favour of the firms and the companies. We must realize that we have to put a huge STOP to the demands of our work and the responsibilities must have a limit. Not anyone will really care about us but ourselves. We have to think about it before it’s too late…

Religions of hate

Elton John is absolutely right. All religions instead of doing the job of spreading words of love among the people, in fact they create a group of religious people that follow not the path of goodness, peace and love but the orders of the head of the church, which is a human speech full of hate among the “others” with the sole purpose to make people obey to the rules that the authority commands.

Women domination

Segolene Royal seems to become the first woman president of France. Together with Angela Merkel who became the first woman German Chancellor, the two women will be the real leaders of the EU. If we add Hillary Clinton to this puzzle, we‘ll have a women domination – never forget Michelle Bachelet from Chile! Although this scheme looks a little strange the truth is that the world can’t get worse – or maybe can it? A giant role plays the ideological background of each woman. History has proved that the conservative women politicians are stricter than men – remember Margaret Thatcher? – but the socialist-progressive ones tend to be more radical. So, I think that they really worth a chance (though I’d rather prefer Barack Obama, I’m not quite sure yet!)

Gay marriage in South Africa

In South Africa gay marriage was legitimized. Much progress from an open-minded society, which doesn’t want to recall the apartheid tactics and has turned the back to any kind of discrimination. They show the way to many western countries like the US for example, where stricter laws are being voted against homosexuality and any other non-Christian behavior. Elton John was right at last.

The President of Chile Michelle Bachelet has 3 children with 2 different men, saying about herself "I am a woman, socialist, separated and agnostic" in a country where 97% of the population is heavily Roman Catholic and divorce was legalized only in 2004. But I think that the Chilean society is more open-minded that many European ones – the American is obviously out of the question…

Living on our own

Many friends from abroad are wondering why the greeks, and the italians as well, live with their parents until about they 're 30 or maybe more. The answer is that in Greece - where I know the situation better - the cost of living is very high in comparison with salaries. So, young people can't afford it living on their own. And the state doesn't give any kind of loans that could be paid later. But we 're not talking about Scandinavia or even the UK, sorry I forgot...

The greek state can’t use other low fare airports close to Athens for low-cost air companies than the main existing Athens International Airport “El. Venizelos”, because of the contract signed between the management of the airport and the state. Simply unbelievable! Free Athens from the cruel capital despots!

Modern slaves

In Brussels they were discussing about the hours of work per week, because the UK minister of employment as well as other north European countries’ ministers wanted them to be extended up to 65 or 70. We have to resist these nightmare scenarios. We are not slaves to the companies. If the big companies need more work they should hire more employees. We mustn’t work like slaves to increase the companies’ profits. All the rights that the workers have gained with their blood during the last century, they are now gradually being lost. We have become the modern office slaves. We mustn’t stand still. We mustn’t let our conservative or the so-called “labour-friendly” governments – capitalism’s servants – decide for our slavery without us. Let’s show them our strong disapproval and opposition.

Why most of the western societies are still ruled by the strict “values” of christianism, which in fact are nothing more than severe prohibitions in order merely to conserve the existing situation, helping the authorities rule without any disturbance and making people obey like sheep? This situation makes people feel that they have to obey to the rules of society or else they will be expelled from it. Therefore, they become oppressed and have psychological problems and problems of behaviour because they just can’t express themselves in an “acceptable” manner. Let’s get rid of these prejudices and free our minds. Let’s all feel free and let the others feel free too. Let’s not judge other’s behavior and focus on ours and our lives. Let’s set our cities free from these anachronistic and mean voices that use the religion in order to manipulate people.

Someone to protect

I just parked my car and I was facing a dilemma whether to take the wallet with me at home or to leave in the car so that not to bother carrying it with me again tomorrow morning. But I finally thought that it wasn't a good idea to leave it in the car, some youngsters broke my father's car's outside mirror last night. Why does the police only express their hate by hitting the immigrants instead of protecting the civilians?

The purpose of creating this blog was - apart from me expressing my thoughts and my fears - to become a spot where people from all over the world could express their thoughts too, about issues that deal with all citizens that live in big cities and want them to become a better place to live without violence, having the right to express themselves without being objects of humiliation and bad talk, free from xenophobia and racicm and gradually the aim is to understand the power that we have in our hands and must use it unitedly in the direction that we want and not the way that our politicians do.
